The best way to see Capri is definitely by boat: the island is a rocky jewel surrounded by the bluest sea and the most colorful Grottos, you may appreciate the best by boat.
Best way to see Capri is enjoying a whole day boat tour with captain and snack on the board. The boat leaves from Sorrento, and will start with the surrounding coast exploration, then will navigate through the deep sea direction at the island: after navigating past Tiberius’ Leap topped by Villa Jovis, the boat will follow the southern coast of the island, passing beneath Casa Come Me, the writer Curzio Malaparte‘s island home. Soon after, you will begin to see Faraglioni rock formations and pass beneath the stone archway. Legend holds that couples who kiss while passing through will be lucky in love…so snuggle up to your sweetheart! After passing Marina Piccola, you will skirt a stretch of coastline particularly thick with sea caves, including the Grotta dei Santi and the Grotta Verde, which got its name from the water’s emerald hue. On the horizon, the imposing Punta Carena Lighthouse, the second largest in Italy. I told you, this is the best way to see Capri!
Before landing, the boat will make a few stops to take a nice swim and a bath, snorkeling in the grottos or just relax under the sun. Finally will land at Marina Piccola in Capri. From here you may take the bus to reach the town center: the bus will leave you just a few meters from Capri’s famous Piazzetta; you can stop for lunch or for a quick snack and continue your visit. From the Piazzetta, walk down Via Vittorio Emanuele to the Quisisana hotel, continue downhill, turning right into the Gardens of Augusto. Here you can enjoy the sweeping view over Marina Piccola, Via Krupp, and the Faraglioni rock formations. Do not miss to try the local “Limonata” or “ Granita di Limoni”: lemons are one of the local trademarks, known in the whole world for the famous Limoncello Liquor. Time to go back to the boat, a beautiful cruise back to the mainland is waiting for you!!!
